With feedback from fellow south students, each person we interviewed was asked the questions, ‘what is one holiday song that reminds you of your childhood?’ and ‘who is one artist that you think makes the best holiday music?’ and ‘what activity do you like to do when listening to holiday music?’
Cristina D, a senior, “One holiday song that reminds me of my childhood is ‘Feliz Navidad’ because my grandpa used to play it on the piano at every Christmas party. And I think Michael Bublé has the best holiday music to listen to. And when I listen to holiday music, I like to decorate with my family for the holidays, like set up around the house.”
Jayden J, also a senior, “The song ‘Rudolph the Red-nosed reindeer’ reminds me of my childhood because in elementary school I sang that song in chorus for our winter show. I remember how when we were in chorus, we came to South to sing Christmas songs for our winter concert, we sang for our parents and family. One artist that makes the best holiday music is Mariah Carey because she’s the most known for her Christmas music. I like to cook when listening to holiday music, it puts me in a cheery mood when cooking.”
Mr. Felder, a teacher at South, “The song ‘This Christmas’ reminds me of childhood because it was what I remember hearing on the radio the most. I don’t have a favorite artist; I just listen to whatever holiday music is on at the time. But when I am listening to any holiday music, I like to decorate my house.”
